Kids Hope USA is an international outreach ministry based in Holland, Mi. This ministry partners churches with an elementary school in their same community to provide mentors for children who are in need of a friend. These volunteers come alongside a child at a time when some of the more important aspects of their life are developed, such as formation of values, self-esteem development and the learning of basic academic and problem solving skills. Kids Hope USA mentors at Covenant Life Church commit to spending one hour a week with their child . These mentoring sessions are less about academics and more about simply being there. Sharing time and love speaks volumes to these children. For the past five years we have been partnered with Mary A. White Elemenatry School here in Grand Haven and at present we are providing mentors for 23 children.
How can you become involved?? There are many ways and we always can use help. Besides actual mentors we are in need of prayer partners and substitute mentors. Please don't hesitate to look into this unique ministry that provides us with an awesome opportunity to reach out in love to a child in need of a friend.
